The Week Ahead 17th Dec 2018

Key events this week are centered around central bank activity with monetary policy and interest rate decisions expected from Federal Reserve Bank, Bank of Japan and Bank of England. Also UK, Japanese and Canadian Consumer Price Index data is due in addition to Australian Employment data. 

Wednesday 19th December at 07.00pm – Fed rate decision, expectations are for the increase to 2.5% from current 2.25%. Press conference and monetary policy statement is also due at 07.30pm. 

Thursday 20th December at 03.00am – BoJ rate decision, expectations are for no change in policy. 

Thursday 20th December at 12.00pm – BoE rate decision, expectations are for no change in policy.
